10 km Race - 7:00 p.m. Start on Jerseyville Road

The 10 kilometer race is considered to be among the more challenging race routes when compared to other races in the area. This race features two hills - one at the beginning and the other in the middle of the race. Water stations top up runners as they make their way through tree lined neighborhoods cheered on by the citizens of Ancaster.

Diagram at right sets out the race profile.

All finishers will receive a 25th anniversary race medal.

Race Route

This race starts on Jerseyville in front of the high school. After a cannon blast start, runners head into Spring Valley by the Lion's Club Pool heading up the other side toward Fiddler's Green Road. The top of this first hill marks the 1 kilometer mark and the turn onto the Lover's Lane is the 1 mile mark. Continuing along Lover's Lane to Lloyminn brings runners to the 2 kilometer mark with a gentle climb to the first water station just past the 3 kilometer mark.

A sharp right turn provides some welcome relief with a gentle down grade just past the 4 kilometer mark. Then, it is time to dig deep to get out of the lowest part of the course. Rising out of the valley for the last hill, runners pass half way after turning left onto Sulphur Springs Road. A right into Mansfield Park brings the second water station just before the 6 kilometer marker. A slight rise out of Mansfield Park back onto Lover's Lane and it is flat all the way back to the finish.

The one mile marker is just before the roundabout by the firestation and you are one kilometer from a drink, supper and glory.
