May 14, 2008 Spectator story here

Welcome to the official web site for the Ancaster Old Mill Races (AOMR). The AOMR has been the Tuesday evening venue for Heritage Days Celebrations for many, many years. The Tuesday June 10, 2008 walk/runs will represent the 25th presentation of the races. Each race has been planned and executed by Race Director, Anton Plas.

Net proceeds from the Races are donated to various charities in the local area. Past contributions have been made to the Brain Tumour Foundation, McMaster University Children's Hospital and Evan Glen family support. This year's races are associated with the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton. The AOMR event is being offered in conjunction with Ancaster Heritage Days festivities and Music at Fieldcote.

Help raise money for worthy causes by pledging through the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton. Click here to download a pledge form.

As has become tradition, the AOMR offers 3 races:
* 1 kilometer kid's race; starts at 6:30 p.m.
* 10 kilometer race; starts at 7:00 p.m.
* 5 kilometer race; starts at 7:10 p.m.

Pre-registration will be limited to 2000 runners – same day registration will be available

With this year representing the 25th anniversary of the races, ALL race participants will receive a commemorative medal. The medal's design is provided by Peter McCluskey of McCluskey Design.

From modest beginnings, the races have grown from a few hundred runners to over 1,200 participants the last couple of years.

For the 25th anniversary of the races, a cash purse of up to $3,000 is offered to be both men and women who are able to break the 10k race record. See the Events and Prizes page for more details.
